Media Kit

The Carolina Cup Racing Association relies on the Carolina Cup and the Colonial Cup races to fulfill its mission of operating Springdale Race Course as both an equestrian and tourism center. In addition to the Carolina and Colonial Cup Races, the Springdale Race Course is also a 600 acre thoroughbred racehorse training center, operational year round.

The training and preparation for steeplechase race horses is an ongoing effort and we encourage you to come and visit Springdale Race Course throughout the year or prior to race day. We are happy to make the necessary arrangements for any interview with jockeys or trainers and for you to photograph the horses, our race course, training barns or morning gallops. We also have plenty of stock photographs on hand if needed.

The Media Kit will provide you with the necessary information to help your day at the races go as smoothly as possible. We will have a Media Tent set up during the races as a central location for information as well as a place for you to work, relax, unload gear or just enjoy a cool drink.

Credentials

All media must submit a Request for Credentials via mail, fax, or email to:

You will receive a packet containing a parking hang tag, your ribbons, and a Release of Rights, which must be signed and returned to our office prior to race day. NOTE: You will not be admitted to the race course without a signed Release of Rights.

Mandatory Press Meeting

Held on race day at 12 noon at the Media Tent, located directly behind the Grandstand, for ALL Field Press. You must attend this meeting before you will allowed out on the course. Catherine French, our Track Photographer, and Bob Witham, Track Official, will explain the rules and regulation of photographing on the course during a race, and they will escort you on to the course prior to a race. Our main concern is not only for your safety but the safety of the horses and jockeys as well.
